I enjoy drawing words from nature for my lyrics, examples like forest clouds, waterfall hair and whirlpool eyes are some that come to mind. So upon reading Srila Prabhupada explain that 'the sky is the colour of Krishna' I was impelled to pen the song 'the Colour of the Sky'.

Krishna_Sharma_what_is_the_difficultyIn Srutakirti Das's wonderful book, What is the Difficulty? in which he beautifully describes his time traveling with Srila Prabhupada, he relates the following instructive exchange;

One evening, while in his garden, Srila Prabhupada looked at the sky and said; “So, is the sky the colour of Krishna?”
“In Krishna Book it says that Krishna is dark bluish like a thundercloud,” a disciple answered.
“The sky is the colour of Krishna,” Srila Prabhupãda explained. “It is the light from Krishna’s bodily effulgence that makes the sky blue.”
Srila Prabhupada gave us the simplest ways to always remember Krishna. One must look at the sky every day. By his mercy, we can look at the sky and immediately remember Krishna.

Prabhupada had a real genius for teaching spiritual matters and was able to guide his followers to remember Krishna with the simplest of methods. Referring to Krishna's statement, ''I am the taste of water'' he said; 'Even if you are a drunkard and are fond of tasting wine, I should recommend that you simply think "This taste of wine is Krishna." That will make a yogi of you. That will make you the greatest yogi''

So this teaching comes right from Krishna Himself. In the Bhagavad Gita He declares Himself to be not only the taste of water, but the light of the sun and the moon, the intelligence of the intelligent and the mother and the father of the universe, no less.  Seeing these things often means we have innumerable ways in which to think of Krishna.

So, in the same spirit, I wrote this song. I hope it works for you.

May there be blue skies and may they remind you of that blue boy, Krishna.

Lyrics

I, am running for shelter,
this ain't no shower of nectar,
that's falling on me now.

Your beautiful smile soaking up my tears,
I feel my pain's reseeding,
and all my wounds are heeling.

Chorus

Your beautiful form,
is lifting me up high,
I feel, far from the storm,
You're the reason why,
You're the colour of the sky.

Your, open invitation,
coming down from heaven,
the damn has burst.

The tide is in,
the stars are out.
Your beauty's shining,
I wanna be soaking,
in its waves.

Chorus

Your beautiful form,
is lifting me up high,
I feel, far from the storm,
You're the reason why,
You're the colour of the sky.

Hare Krishna Hare Krishna
Krishna Krishna Hare Hare,
Hare Rama Hare Rama
Rama Rama Hare Hare

Chorus 2

Your beautiful form,
where I want to come to rest,
and feel, far from the storm,
where clouds run dry,
to show the colour of the sky.
